what up, fam smile

I've spent most of the year so far prepping up live shows and played two almost-non-overlapping (except for @jimmac's remix that I played in both) shows in Seattle. The first, the excerpt of which is provided here was at a small experimental music space called Gallery 1412 in Seattle, WA. I chose more downtempo / weirder stuff for that one. The second I'll post stuff of next week once I finish mastering the recording.

Started an ilzxcsounds instagram, here are some live shows documentation

Soundboard recording of the entire live show

The OG WB2022 tracks from the set (studio versions)

I had the pleasure of playing the show with these artists:
* LIGHTGAZER_OS (Analog Modular Visuals)
* PELBENDER
* VANIAN BULMAN
* FAUX MACRO | TODO: LINK
* SYNTHIAK

Love you all, missed you all, sorry to not have met the new-WBers of 2024 yet, but we still got time!

The details are really cool! The background sounds like broken glass, the bzzz, maybe some tape recordings played in reverse, etc. It's like a travel through a dreamland, with the beat being the only constant as we go down the river through strange and morphing landscapes. At 3:26, we reached a land and disembark. What is this strange place? And that hihat beat is taaaaasty. There is a sense of mystery, and a sense of wonder and we meet the strange inhabitants of these regions. What a strange and beautiful journey!

So many things here. I like Ked's idea of this being a journey. A journey into the land of funky business.

"can you please play me that ilzxc song again?? the one that sounds like the creatures built a secret treehouse & swimming pool in my brain??"   big_smile

Yaaay! iczxc! I was really excited to see a post from you. I listened to the live recording from Gallery 1412 posted on soundcloud and it's incredible. Really, really clean performance. Gallery 1412 is such a great venue and in my mind a really important one Seattle. I have lots of love for that place. I played a number of shows there waaay back when I think it was still Polestar Music Gallery. A really special place run by incredible people.

welcome back, can't wait to see what you have to share. Congrats on the performance, I keep telling myself I should work on live performance but too afraid to take the leap. This is an inspiration for sure!

I'm delighted that the destination was to funky business land, but perhaps needs to be less business. wink

What's up, Q-Rosh, been a busy / crazy year, will need to listen to all your work in a row -- hope you're still dreaming psychedelic dreams straight to analog tape somehow smile

You being on here is genuinely exciting! Two WB superstars under the same roof is _badassery_! I've been meaning to comment on a;; your work, I've kept up w/ your output until about mid-February when live stuff & work stuff made me a really boring person for a few months...

I don't know if you're in Seattle area or not, so the proposal is simple: if you are, would love to say hi / drink a drink of your choice sometime. If not, we should simply change "Seattle" to "anywhere we can be conveniently colocated, perchance" and repeat the previous statement... Thanks so much for your kind comments & replies, so glad to be posting again!

Go sign up for a venue whenever you can--it's the pressure that does it! It's everything I hoped it would be: scary / challenging / fun / delightful. It's also kind of like getting a whole lot of WB feedback but all at once about a whole lot of work. (It can be a lot of work, but if you're not an dumbass like me who agreed to do 2 shows of almost non-overlapping material 4 days from apart, you'll be fine!) Do one, I guarantee you'll learn something about your work you didn't previously know! (And sorry it's another live show recording this week too, but new work soon!)

Thanks for listening everyone heart

I am in Seattle and would love to grab a drink sometime. I think I still have your email somewhere. I'll reach out there and we can set something up.
